The Soul & Motown night on Saturday 21 September was a great success with a lively crowd dancing the night away. The night also saw the AFC Ale on sale at a function for the first time and to say it was well received is an understatement. Stuart Oakes, who organises our “Mascot Experience” days attended with his wife Kelly and their sons Oscar and Arthur who are both big AFC fans. Arthur is the representative for Facial Palsy at the club and it was good to see him having a great time and telling people what it means to have facial palsy. We were going to use a photo of Stuart enjoying himself on the dance floor in this piece but decided that “Dad Dancing” should not be encouraged at future events. We hope that this will be the first of many Soul & Motown Nights at the Stadium so look out for news in future editions of the newsletter.
